Lee Rue

Born in 1962, Lee Rue has a MFA degree from Academy of Art University, San Francisco in 1998. Lee’s fulfilling his childhood dream as an artist from his family tradition. Although he spent most of his early years in designs and other works, his passion to be creative and to find exquisite and unique ways of art never fades. He started his career as a designer and taught many years of art, design and lighting techniques in FIDM, Academy of Art University and UC Berkeley Extension in San Francisco. His painting style combines realistic basics with impressionistic colors, strokes and light. His subjects are animals, especially horses, western, the American heritages as well as landscape and portraits including live-model paintings. He loves the old western genre with untamed wild west natures. He often provides paintings with romantic stories as well as dramas.

Lee Rue’s paintings have been received many awards including Phippen Museum Foundation Award for its Western Art Show in Arizona and People’s Choice Award at Mountain View Americana Art Show in South Carolina. He also had special joint exhibitions with four other renowned master painters in YoloArts and Silicone Valley Asian Art Center, in California. Many of his paintings have been nationally juried into OPA, AIS and other associations’ prestige’s national exhibitions. He’s current associate members of Oil Painters of America and American Impressionist Society.
